I have been an independent, professional restorer of heritage furniture since 1985.
I work with traditional, handcrafted wooden furniture; objects of modern wooden construction; and wooden
structures such as painted panels, woodwork, and door leaves.
My job is to restore and to conserve such objects and to prepare related studies.
Depending upon the nature of the work to be done and the time required, the work is performed either in
my workshop in Paris or wherever the objects are conserved.
Since 1996, I have also worked in the field of preventive conservation.
This involves studying and improving the conditions of conservation of an ensemble of objects or a
heritage collection.
My observations are embodied in an evaluation that includes an assessment of the current condition of the objects and recommendations for their restoration and conservation. This evaluation forms the basis for establishing a program of transfer or for improving the objects' conservation.
In parallel with my professional activities, I served as an instructor and the Pedagogical Director of the Furniture program at the National Heritage Institute in Paris (Inp) from 2006 to 2013. In this capacity, I developed and implemented a new pedagogical course of study for Master's degree students. My collaborations with a wide network of restoration and conservation professionals contributed to the exchange of ideas and knowledge in the nascent field of heritage furniture conservation.
I work regularly with such institutions as the Louvre Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts of Paris,
the Guimet Museum of Asian Art, the National Library of France, as well as major art galleries and
private collectors.
According to the nature of the objects and the extent of the work to be done, I collaborate with a
network of experts in conservation of painting, gilding, metals and textiles.
In order to execute certain commissions, especially for the conservation of contemporary materials, I
work in association with a laboratory of scientific analysis, e.g., for the identification of adhesives
and of pigments.
Today, at your request, through France and foreign, I am undertaking new commissions for consulting
services the restoration of antique and modern wooden objects.
